| For the next two weeks, we will be discussing some of the beliefs, rituals, and holidays of the Jewish religion. Much of this will be in preparation for our trip to BethEl Temple and the Holocaust Museum on October 11 and 12th. We hope all of you will be able to go with us. If you have not received mail about this by next Monday (Sept.29th), please call the church office and let Michelle know. You will need the permission slip in order to be able to go. |

| This Sunday, we will continue to look at the covenants made between Abraham and Moses and God. What was the importance of the Tabernacle and the Holy of Holies, the ten Commandments, the Shema? We will span the ages as we look at the days of these patriarchs and then look at the use of the computer to access the information. Join us for a bite to eat at 9:15, and then continue on with class. Remember, you are welcome to bring friends. |

This week we will be discussing two men who God chose: Abraham and Moses. What were they asked to do? How much trust is involved and what is that word all about? Come listen and see their stories, and talk about Trust. |
| Gustav Doré (French illustrator 1832-1883), captures some of the poignancy and fearfulness of the situation in his etching, "Abraham and Isaac climb Mt. Moriah" (1866). |
In this 1877 lithograph, Moses is shown receiving the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. |
